The deadline for the free Windows 10 upgrade is closing in fast, and there are still machines that haven’t taken advantage of the upgrade. The free upgrade can refresh your old computer and extend Microsoft support. There are certain requirements that your old computer must fulfill in order to qualify. Depending on your computer the upgrade may not provide the full benefit of Windows 10. The free upgrade is a full version of Windows 10 with full support. After July 29, 2016 the free upgrade will no longer be available. Any individual who would like to get Windows 10 will have to purchase a full version. Windows 10 has been designed to be compatible with most applications and computers that are currently on the market. If you experience any problems after the upgrade or you don’t like the new operating system. Microsoft provides the option to go back to your old operating system within 30 days. There have been incidents where the upgrade required professional assistance, especially for environments running on domains.

Requirements - Your computer must be running:
- A genuine Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1.
- 1 GHz or faster processor or SoC
- 1 GB for 32- bit or 2 GB for 64 bits minimum of RAM
- Hard Drive at least 16GB for 32 bit OS and 20GB for 64 bit OS
- Graphics card DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver
- A minimum display resolution of 800x600
